Cape Coast Castle (Cape Coast)

Cape Coast Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most significant historical landmarks in Ghana. It served as a major hub for the transatlantic slave trade, where countless enslaved Africans were held before being shipped to the Americas. The castle now functions as a museum, offering a powerful and sobering experience for visitors.

Elimina Castle

Elmina Castle, built in 1482 by the Portuguese, is the oldest European structure in sub-Saharan Africa. Like Cape Coast Castle, it was a key site in the transatlantic slave trade. The castle is a poignant reminder of the region’s colonial past and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Manhyia Palace (Kumasi)

The Manhyia Palace is the seat of the Asantehene, the king of the Ashanti people. It is both a historical and cultural museum, showcasing the rich history, culture, and traditions of the Ashanti Kingdom. The palace grounds are beautifully maintained and offer a deep dive into Ashanti heritage.

Lake Bosomtwe (Kumasi)

Lake Bosomtwe, located about 30 kilometers south of Kumasi, is a natural lake formed in a meteorite impact crater. It is a popular recreational site, known for its scenic beauty and tranquil environment. The lake is surrounded by lush hills and traditional Ashanti villages.

Our annual trips to Africa are designed to immerse participants in the rich history, culture, and natural beauty of the continent.
